This framed artwork is comprised of multiples of a hand stitched Kogin diamond pattern called “Idowaku” (well frame) in orange, dark purple and teal.
These Kogin patterns were used to decorate jackets that their makers wore to the temple as Sunday best and were very warm due to the density of the stitching.
The frame is a light wood.
Stitched using Kogin sashiko thread and Aurifil cotton floss on 18-point white evenweave Kogin fabric.
