Indigo dyed Shibori Tazuna reins stripes pattern bamboo cotton scarf
Indigo dyed Shibori Tazuna reins stripes pattern bamboo cotton scarf
Dyed 12 times in my Japanese indigo vats, this lovely organic bamboo and cotton scarf is perfect to keep you warm and cosy this autumn.
The beautiful "Tazuna" or reins pattern effect is achieved by pleating and binding sections of the scarf to a core and then leaving some of the fabric free to turn dark blue, creating the striped effect down the length of the scarf.
This pattern was traditionally used when making the reins for soldier's horses.
The pleats form a lovely organic striped effect with the binding thread marks across them.
Bamboo cotton is a wonderful soft fabric and feels lovely to wear.
