This is a super soft and luxurios vintage kimono silk piece created by hand applied Kumo shibori binding.

The silkd will have been dyed red in a mottled bomaki marbled pattern and then hundreds of Kumo shibori bindings applied down its whole length. (Originally this would have been done to a whole bolt, 12 yards of fabric, sufficient to make a kimono).

The silk would then have been overdyed in a dark blue dye and then the binding removed to reveal the pattern.

This is a lovely long convential scarf and can be worn wrapped in many ways.
